We are building a clinic in Dukem, Ethiopia, to improve care for mothers and their children and HIV/AIDS patients. 40 Km south of Addis Ababa, Dukem is in the "High Risk Corridor", a transit route that connects Djibouti to the east, Addis Ababa, and Kenya to the south. This route is the focus of an international HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment campaign. Our clinic will collaborate with this effort.
Dukem's 30,000 inhabitants have no local access to health care. Most children have never seen a doctor. One in eight children die before age two. We are working to change that.
